Mountain Lion of the Week

Chris Holloway

Chris Holloway led the Mountain Lions' baseball team to a 5-0 record last week.  The outfielder hit a whopping .769 (10-for-13) with four doubles, five runs batted in, five bases on balls and eight runs scored.  He also put together an .842 on-base percentage and a 1.077 slugging percentage.

Holloway had at least two hits in three of the five games.  He went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and two driven in during the Mountain Lions' 9-4 victory over USC Salkehatchie.  The following day against USCS, Holloway doubled in his only official at-bat while also drawing a walk and getting hit by pitch on the way to scoring three runs.

He was 6-for-9 in Young Harris' conference sweep of Abraham Baldwin this past weekend.  In the first game, Holloway went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored as the Mountain Lions won a thriller, 14-12.  In the opening of Sunday's doubleheader, he was 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two walks, which led to an RBI and a run scored.  Holloway was 2-for-3 in the series finale.

Entering the final two regular season games of the season, which come in a doubleheader at Roane State in Harriman, Tenn., Wednesday, Holloway is second on the team with a .396 batting average.  The leadoff hitter leads YHC with 64 runs scored and 31 bases on balls, and is tied for the team lead with 13 doubles.  Earlier this season, Holloway set the school record with a 33-game hitting streak.
